Tune in here each week during the season for game results,
breakdowns, rivalries and the Weekly Rankings!!!
We're BACK!  Thats right, the grueling work schedule is over (for the most part) and the NFL Playoffs are
long gone so now its time to get back to get USBA updates to the world that craves them.  When we last
looked in on the league there were already several stories brewing.  We had only one unbeaten team left
and Dan Oniell ruled the East.  Dan did have plenty of competition though and by now we all know whats at
stake.  Atlanta was on top of the South, Seattle was #1 in the West and Playoff hopefuls Connecticut and
Denver were good but not exactly wowing with their performances.

*****

So, fast forward over a month aaaaand.....Denver and Connecticut are still coming up a little short.  Seattle
is still the best in the West.  New York is #1 in the East and Atlanta is tied for the South lead with Carolina.
Perhaps craziest of all....Des Moines REMAINS unbeaten!  The Dynasty now sit at 20-0 and they are just
obliterating every other team in the league.  As usual its Kidd and Camby on a killer team and at this
rate....we may not see them lose a game until..who knows!!

*****

So, what else is there to tell?  Well, the similarities just continue with the bad teams.  Jersey was winless
then and they are winless now.  Vegas and Cincinnati had combined for just 3 total wins way back then.
Now Vegas has added a few wins but that combined total still sits at a lowly 6 wins.  One thing that has
changed is the trades...we have had several major deals go down and if you click over to the
Trade Talks
section, you will find that almost every one of them has been reviewed!!  So, check the ranks, then check
your deal to see if you got the short end of the stick...or not!

The Rankings!!!

[1] 1- Des Moines Dynasty (This is getting ugly for the rest of the league)

[6] 2- Carolina Catamounts (15...FIFTEEN wins straight...not to shabby)

[4] 3- Atlanta Aliens (don't ever count the Aliens out!)

[2] 4- Seattle Reign (Still in command of the West)

[3] 5- New York Ninja Turtles (...quiet on the NY front...to quiet)

6- Connecticut Waves (Just 2 games behind in the East)

[10] 7- Indiana Madness (11-9 is ok but its also 9 games behind Des Moines)

[5] 8- Waco Werewolves (A .500 record isn't gonna cut it)

[11] 9- California Crush (Falling further behind Seattle)

[9] 10- Chicago Bulls (This is the wrong division to be under .500 in)

[8] 11- Denver Electricity (Under .500...but only 6 games back)

[7] 12- Baltimore Buckeyez (Sean is asleep at the wheel)

[12] 13- Las Vegas High Rollers (How much worse can it get?)

[13] 14- Cincinnati Saints (...oh...guess it can get worse)

[14] 15- OBX-Favre-Has-Retired-Now-Maybe-This-Owner-Can-Concentrate-on-the-NBA!!

16- Jersey Storm (Not good....but...maybe not a toothless tiger anymore?)
Um....Only two months in and..still...an unbeaten remains??
***1-5-11***
One month down, four to go!  The storylines coming in to this season are many, and they all revolve
around one team, one owner.  New York, Dan Oneill.  Seattle wants to beat NY to prove they matter.
Atlanta wants to beat NY to prove they STILL matter.  Des Moines wants to beat NY to prove they are
BETTER.  California wants to beat NY to prove they ARE the Champs.  And The Rock.....The Rock wants to
beat ...Dan, to keep his name, his title and....his legacy.

***

So then the question is, how are the New York Ninja Turtles doing thus far?  We named them the
2010/2011 World Champions in the Preseason Rankings and so far, so good.  The Ninja Turtles have
started the year at 6-2 and lead East.  They took a loss to The Waves but we're pretty sure that was a
glitch.  Seattle did manage a week three 1335-1166 win but so far that's the only real speed bump.
They've nabbed Dwight Howard and Cousins and are looking stronger than ever......but they are NOT in
the clear yet, not by a long shot.

***

Why?  Because not only is NY not the best team in the league but at the moment, they may not even be in
the top three!  Atlanta also sits at 6-2, they lead the South  and the ATL is scoring buckets of points.  We
also have the Seattle Reign.  Seattle leads the West at 7-1 and they have also beaten New York.  But the
King of the Ring four weeks in, has to be Des Moines.  The Dynasty is the lone undefeated team in the
USBA.  They are 8-0 but more importantly, none of their games have even been close.  Both Connecticut
and The Rock have started off a little slower but even they are still right in the thick of it.  The bottom line is,
New York is off to a hot start, but its a long season...should be interesting...

***

..Well..should be interesting for some anyway.  Vegas, Jersey, Cincinnati and
OBX-Favre-Doesn't-Play-In-The-NBA.  Those teams will NOT be participating in the battle.  Jersey and OBX
remain winless while Vegas and Cincinnati have just 3 total W's.  But don't worry, Cole will probably trade
his team into oblivion and join you guys soon!

*************

The Rankings!!!

1- Des Moines Dynasty (Jason Kidd.....STILL able to hoist a team to greatness)

2- Seattle Reign (The Rock has his work cut out trying to keep up with this team)

3- New York Ninja Turtles- (Yep, they ARE top three....and this may be the lowest we see them all year)

4- Atlanta Aliens- (Still THE most balanced team in the league)

5- Waco Werewolves- (No one talks about them....which is just what they want)

6- Carolina Catamounts- (Will be tough to stay near the top of the South)

7- Baltimore Buckeyez- (Not catching New york any time soon)

8- Denver Electricity- (could this be the LOWEST we see The Rock all year?)

9- Chicago Bulls- (Already 4 games back)

10- Indiana Madness- (Two losses straight)

11- California Crush- (The Champs aren't looking so good early on)

12- Vegas High Rollers- (Didn't THIS team win a Title not so long ago??)

13- Cincinnati Saints- (Better than 1-7 for sure)

14- OBX....IT DOESN'T MATTER what their record is because

FINALLY!!!! The Rock, HAS COME BACK!!!

OBX and Jersey want to be ranked!!  Win a game and The Rock won't have to interrupt your Candyass
rankings!!!  Well, well well....here we are, THE season of season.  Well The Rock is here and he hasn't
backed down ONE BIT!!  You have struck the first blow Oneill....you took down The Peoples Champion last
week but you are a long way ...and The Rock means a LONG WAY from winning the War!!  So enjoy your
early success but you will not take The Rocks Title....The Peoples Name....so easy..

IF YA SMELLLLLLL, What The Rock is COOKIN!!!
Four weeks in and only one unbeaten remains
***11-23-10***
Now THIS is gonna be interesting!  In one short week we will be able to tell just who is who in this league of
juggernaughts.  We have TWO top teams taking on the best a division has to offer.  Four games should be
enough to tell at least some of the tale and help determine the true pecking order.

***

Up first is the best team in this or possibly any other league, The Des Moines Dynasty.  The Dynasty are
STILL unbeaten after 24 games but take a look at their roster and really, it doesn't initially strike much fear
into your heart.  We have been in other leagues where a team is just plain scary.  (Think Virginia Victims, or
Annapolis Anklebreakerz).  Des Moines has little in the way of mega-star power but what they do have, is a
roster that's built to win, and win a lot.

***

LeBron.....Wade....Carmelo...Brook....Blake....Kobe.....CP3....Deron....Dwight.....Rose...Love....Westbrook.
What do these studs all have in common?  Not a single one of them resides in Des Moines.  Nope, not a
single mega-super-name here.  So, what is it that makes Des Moines unbeatable so far?  2nd...tier.  This
team has it all.  Pau, Aldridge, Kidd, Milsap, Smoove, Beno, Camby, Iguodala, Hill.  Every single one of
those names, is here.  And every single one of those players puts up big fantasy numbers all...the...time.
So, it isn't star power to be feared here..its simply consistency.

***

What?  Whats that?  Say What?  How dare we put Grant Hill on that list?  Really?  Ok, you try averaging
14/5/2.5 with just 1.5 TOs per game.  In the NBA.  At 38 years old.  As a small forward.  After your career
was pronounced dead 7 years prior.  (Oh, get us at least 3 double doubles in the first couple months of the
season too).  Oh...you can't, then shut up.  (And if Dan read that and thought "yeah...yeah I could do
that".......dream on great-white-dope)

***

This week though, we will find out what Des Moines is really made of as they are taking on the best The
South has to offer, Atlanta and Carolina.  Those teams have a combined 39-9 record and guess
what...these are two other teams built around consistent players, not super studs (CP3 does reside on
Carolina's team but thats about the only mega name to be found).

***

So, who wins these games?  Its NOT gonna be easy, but...Des Moines will emerge as blemish-free as they
are now.  The Dynasty may lose a game this year, but it won't be this week.

**********

We do have another powerhouse team taking on the best of a division, but this squad is the total opposite
of Des Moines.  The New York Ninja Turtles.  Nash, Tyreke, Brook, Dwight, Love, Jordan........oh
wait...wrong Jordan.  ...Anyhow, all of those names are the big time super-stars that dominate drafts, and all
of those names are on this team.  Their depth isn't what Atlanta or Des Moines can boast, but many times,
they don't need depth as their starters just bludgeon opposing teams into submission.

***

This week NY will be taking on the top two teams in The West in Seattle and California.  While not as
impressive as the best up North, these two teams still have an impressive 29-19 combined record.    So,
who takes these games?  Another tough call but we'll side with New York here too.  So Des Moines wins
two, New York wins two and Atlanta drops one.  Whos the best team at years end?  We don't know..and
neither do you.  Only time will tell if Des Moines can run all the way to their first USBA Title or is New York
will indeed steal it away in the end.   ......As for Atlanta.........they...have done it before do NOT think they
can't do it again.

**********

The Rankings!!!

[1] 1- Des Moines Dynasty (Getting...better!?)

[3] 2- Atlanta Aliens (The ATL is closing in on the top spot)

[5] 3- New York Ninja Turtles (Surging ahead)

[2] 4- Carolina Catamounts (A small drop)

[4] 5- Seattle Reign (Can they beat NY??)

[7] 6- Indiana Madness (No one talks about em...but The madness are lurking)

[6] 7- Connecticut Waves (Trying to stay with NY)

[9] 8- California Crush (Needing a spark)

[12] 9- Baltimore Buckeyez (Making a move in The East?)

[10] 10- Chicago Bulls (Slowly sinking)

[11] 11- Denver Electricity (Silent)

[8] 12- Waco Werewolves (Falling fast)

[13] 13- Las Vegas High Rollers (Playing nickel slots)

[15] 14- OBX Favre-Just-Filed-Retirement-Papers (...Don't worry...he'll play next year)

[14] 15- Cincinnati 'Aints (Just...bad)

[16] 16- Jersey Storm (Making moves...still winless)
***1-18-11***
The Title looms closer....the question is..who is closest to it?
And the best, remain the best.  Des Moines has now rolled to an astonishing 28-0.  Two weeks ago we
named their games that week as being a major point of interest.  The results of those games could go a
long way to determining just how good Des Moines is.  Carolina, and Atlanta were the opponents and both
were formidable.  The other similarity between the two is that both were dismissed by Des Moines.  Neither
game was a squeaker with Carolina putting up 1253 and Atlanta managing 1353 while Des Moines would
top 1500.  Move forward another week and Des Moines has won both of those games as well further
distancing themselves from the rest of the league.

Its been 28 games and all of them have been won by Des Moines.  All of this despite injuries to key players
like Mike Miller, Marcus Camby and others.  So the question is, who can take down....The Dynasty.  The
answer is quick and easy.  No One.  Tim Collins and the mighty Aliens?  They have fallen twice already, its
clear who the better team is.  Seasoned vet Neil Clifton and his West leading Seattle Reign?  Not a chance.
The current Champion Ray Reilly and the California Crush?  Please, the "champs" can't even get to .500.
The Madness can't hang.  The Catamounts are tough but not tough enough.  The Rock??  ...Never before
has an entire fantasy season gone by....in any league....without The Rock showing up at some
point.......until this year in the USBA.  So then, can anyone stop this Des Moines terror?  Dan Onelll?
Hmmm.  The Ninja Turtles are a helluva team, stacked from top to bottom with stars.  With only 5 losses, its
not like NY is light years behind Des Moines either.  So....catch the Dynasty?  Not a chance but nab a win
over Soprano?  Maybe...just maybe Dan could get lucky (And yes...some luck will be needed) and beat Des
Moines, but only time will tell if he can manage a victory when it matters most.

So, what else is there to talk about?  Nothing.  Bummer.  See thats the problem with such a dominant
force....there really isn't much else to speak on until that unbeaten team....is proven to be...beatable.
Rankings?  Well.....sure I guess.
**********

The Rankings!!!

[1] 1- Des Moines Dynasty (Just no one else close)

[3] 2- New York Ninja Turtles (A great team......that may never win a title)

[2] 3- Atlanta Aliens (Only a big move can save this team now)

[4] 4- Carolina Catamounts (Now just a hair behind Atlanta)

[5] 5- Seattle Reign (Two losses straight but still a healthy lead in The West)

[7] 6- Connecticut Waves (Can't catch NY, but this team is strong)

[6] 7- Indiana Madness (12......TWELVE games back...and thats with a nice 14-12 record)

[9] 8- Baltimore Buckeyez (.500    yay)

[12] 9- Waco Werewolves (Trying to climb back in it)

[8] 10- California Crush (4 losses in a row)

[10] 11- Chicago Bulls (Getting worse)

[11] 12- Denver Electricity (...................)

[13] 13- Las Vegas High Rollers (Playing nickel slots)

[15] 14- OBX Favre-Will-Be-Back-Dont-Worry (...Favre would be angry wit dis record though!!)

[14] 15- Cincinnati 'Aints (Getting worse)

[16] 16- Jersey Storm (Treading water at zero wins)

....Des Moines...could win em all!
Boring!  Boring?  Has the league...THE league become simply...boring?

***

We didn't want half the league to be done.
We wanted some trash talk and got none.
We wanted to see what you all could be if left alone by The Great ONE!!!

But now it seems clear the league needs it.
Now matter how Collins might have a fit.
He sat and he watched while competition was botched and now The Rock is simply..LIT!!

***

FINALLY!!!  The Rock, HAS COME BACK!!!

...And all limericks aside what in the BLUE HELL is going on around here?!?!  The Rock has sat and he
has watched while this entire league has fallen...silent.  And this is not a league of silence.  This is
supposed to be a league full of SUPERstars!!  Neil, Cole, Collins (ok, maybe not Collins), Oneill, Kappen
and SEAN EDWARD!!  Every single one of these names are known the world over as some of the greatest
talents in the game, both on the court, and on the board, yet every single name listed has fallen silent.
Whats the excuse?  NOTHING!!  Oh, The Rock is at fault as well but at least he has a reason....for most of
the year he has absolutely SUCKED and even The Great One himself thought it best to let some others
have a shot on the mic....but...no...LONGER!!  The Rock is back...and he will straighten this league out
owner by damn owner if he has too!!

Every damn name that The Peoples Champ has uttered has committed the cardinal sin of fantasy....having
a great team, and not telling ANYONE about it!  Clifton and Oneill lead their divisions.....and we get silence.
Collins and Edward are in the chase.....nothing.  And Tim Coles team is UN-FREAKING-BEATEN!!  Do you
have any...IDEA what would happen if The Rock had that team Mr. Cole?  They would have to SHUT DOWN
YOU TUBE!!!!  They would have to CANCEL the Internet!!!  Fox News would have to send out an entire
SQUAD of reporters just to find out why The Rock was running half naked down Know Your Role Boulevard
with a GIANT flag that said "Oneill Can SUCK IT"!!!!

You and that entire Roody Poo Crew make The Rock SICK!!  "Oh but we have jobs and dishes and Lawns
and Wives and Children..and..and...and..." Oh Shut Your Mouths!!!  The Rock has allllllllll those things too,
and not only is Each and Every One better than the version you have, but The Rock will STILL find time to
go out, Layeth The Smack Down and then tell the WORLD and the millions...AND MILLIONS of his fans
about it!!  But enough about you Candyasses.  The Rock isn't here just to tell you that none of you rare
entertaining in the slightest....no...The Rock is here....to motivate.

You see, unlike the rest of you , who are fighting for, but don't seem to give a damn about something as
silly as a World Title, The Rock does indeed have something on the line, and it is FAR more important than
the gold.  His Name.
The Peoples....Champion.  You see, if Dan Oneill so much as tastes the Semi-Finals
as a top 3 seed this year...The Rock will LOSE that name!!  The Rock will have to turn over his very
FOUNDATION!  He will have to humiliate himself and he will have to add Oneills praises to the league sites!
Now, The Rock thought a few out there might have his back out of pure respect, but it seems that just isn't
going to happen.  So its time for The Rock to do the motivating FOR YOU!  So, first of all, if Dan Oneill
makes The Playoffs as a top 3 seed.  And YOU are the team he beats to make it to those Semi-Finals, then
his name won't be the only one up in lights.  You see The Rock will make it his business to sully and slander
your name from Purple Mountains to the Oceans White with Foam!!  The Rock will follow you wherever you
go and ensure that you never, and The Rock means...EVER...forget what you did.  HOWEVER, The
Brahma Bull is not a fan of negative reinforcement so let's flip the coin shall we?

If Dan Oneill makes The Playoffs as one of the top 3 seeds, and you face him in Round 1, and you
ELIMINATE that Jabroni?  Well, in that case you will find that for the next
TWO seasons, your league fees
will be entirely paid for by The Rock himself!!!  In addition, if NY finishes OUTSIDE the top 3 and you are
that #3 team, you will be the one getting their fees paid for the next
Two seasons!!  And if Dan should do
the impossible and make the Title game, but as a seed below that #3, then if he loses that game, the Title
Winning team will be the one to collect the bounty!  So there it is...laid out in front of the entire league, now
someone, Make...It...HAPPEN!!

If YA SMELLLLLL, What The Rock ...IS COOKIN!!!

The Peoples Champ now returns this sad quiet little league to its regularly, scheduled, Rankings.

The Bounty
Thats right...The Rock said TWO Seasons!!
Now THATS how you turn around a team!  In 2007, the Connecticut Waves won 1 game.  One.  2008
wasn't much better with 7 wins, but since then, The Waves have gotten better and better.  Last year they
would hit 23 wins and nab their first Playoff berth.  This year, they would notch their best record ever with
26 and earn another spot in The Playoffs.  But what they did this year, far surpasses anything to come
before.....in this season, or perhaps any other.

***

The Waves would have one hell of a road to travel in the 2011 Playoffs.  The teams they would face
turned out to be the BEST the league had to offer.  Carolina.  Des Moines.  New York.  Those teams had a
combined 110-16 record and Des Moines would finish the year a perfect at 42-0.  In the first round it would
be The Waves taking on the 34-8, South Division Champion Carolina Catamounts.  Carolina had a great
year and they were able to take that division even with mighty Atlanta breathing down their necks.  Carolina
would be the favorite for sure, but it didn't matter.  The Waves would take that game with relative ease
1521-1367.  A good win, but it meant that their next opponent would be a juggernaught.....Des Moines.

***

No one could really stop Des Moines all season as the Dynasty rolled over every single team they faced.
Let me say that again.  EVERY single team.  Not one loss.  Not one blemish.  And when I say not one
blemish, I mean none.  Not only did Des Moines go 42-0, they did it with impunity, defeating even the best in
the league with ease.  It was the beginning of a Dynasty.  At least, that's what was written in the book of
What-Should-BE.  Damnit, we forgot to send Ed his copy.  And Ed failed to read anyone else's either.  Des
Moines is great, but they couldn't even make the Title Game.  With the same ease that The Dynasty had
dominated, they seemed to get dominated by Connecticut.  It was a good game, but come Sunday, it was
already over and Connecticut would topple the unbeatable 1634-1459.....and the lowly Waves of a few
years ago, had made the USBA Title Game.  But there was one more opponent to face and while they
weren't unbeaten, their owner sure spoke like they were, and their players sure played like they were.

The New...York...Ninja...Turtles and Dan Oneill.  Should we get into it here?  Should we get into it....now?
Finally...?!?!

As much as The Rock wanted to make an appearance here, I'm not gonna allow it!!  This Update is for
the facts only and luckily it won't take too long to go over ALL the facts.

Fact 1- Oneill touts himself as an owner that is the best turnaround artist in the game.  He can take any
franchise from nothing, to the Title.

Fact 2- Ed....does it better.

***

Your final 1477-1269 Waves win.  Yes, Dan will have his reasons and..dare we say, excuses, but the
bottom line is The Waves won 7 games in 2008.  Now, they are World Champions, and don't look now, but
they are MORE than ready to repeat.  Rose, Jennings, Durant, Griffin.   Looks good to us.

***

Both teams deserve huge props for two epic turnarounds and both should be in the title discussion for a
long time.  As for the rest of the league, its kinda up in the air.  Sure Des Moines will roar back next year
and Atlanta always makes the playoffs (Always), but the rest of the league is up in the air.  We love a good
prediction though so we'll make a few calls now.

*********

1- Jersey wins 6+ games (we're starting slow)

2- Des Moines loses 6+ games

3- New York goes BACK to the Title Game (hey, we don't like the guy but he can (re)build a helluva a
team)..........and loses...again.

4- Atlanta loses 14+ but still makes The Playoffs

5- The Waves repeat as Champs, no, really!

*********

Thats about it.  Great season and as always a HUGE thanks to Cole, Collins, Ed and the other 46
commissioners of the league!  As for the site, sorry about the lack of updates....when the company you
work for goes bankrupt in January that kinda puts a hold on the "leisure" stuff.  Next year the updates will
come more frequently!!  And it may take a lil while but....if ya'll want...The Awards, will be here soon!!
