Tune in here each week during the season for game results,
breakdowns, rivalries and the Weekly Rankings!!!
Really?  Really?!  Three good teams and fourteen mediocre ones?  We are now six weeks into the season
and that’s the general lay of the land.  New York is strong with a 10-2 record and the Waves and the
Dynasty are unbeaten.  What’s worse is those two undefeated teams don’t even play each other until week
eleven!  To make matters worse, the West and the South are horrible!!  The Mavs won their last game but
the remaining seven teams in those divisions are on a 0-17 streak.  So is it to early to call a Waves Dynasty
finals?  Maybe, but are there any real challengers to that match?

***

We called New York as the preseason favorites to take it all but thus far the Turtles have been anything
but unbeatable and seem intent on fixing what WASN’T broken!  Deal after deal has been made but has NY
really gotten any better?  Its looking like ths answer is not only No, but it may be that this team is falling out
of contention altogether.  It isn’t over yet but if you ask us, this team is no threat.

***

So after those three squads we have no other teams with 10+ wins, but we do have the Bulls with nine.
Chicago is a solid team and they have plenty of high caliber players.  Their bench is also solid as a rock
with plenty of guys to fill in if need be.  Trouble here might be the lack of any real “Super” Stars.  Sure
Tyreke is great as are Al Jeff and Boozer but none are really team-carriers.  Cousins may grow into that
role if he can ever get the foul trouble under control but for now he too is a step or two below elite.
Playoffs?  Oh hell yeah.  Threat?  Not today.

***

Baltimore?  They sit at 8-4 and are strong throughout as well.  Another team with no real elite’s though,
Baltimore doesn’t thrill us.  Curry you say?  Darned right he’s elite.  As soon as he can stay healthy for
more than 6 weeks in a row.  No real threat here.

***

Dallas?  Good team and a possible division winner but no.  Not a threat.  Our other division leader, Las
Vegas, they seem to barely be able to stay at .500 despite names like Monroe, Bosh, and D Wade.  No
threat.

***

That’s leaves only teams below .500 to check for threat status, and guess what?  None are.  In fact, the
closest thing we can find to a real threat is Indiana.  1-11 Indiana.  Scola, West, Eric Gordon, Rondo, Melo,
Bargnaini?  Not bad at all.  Too bad only two of them are ever healthy at once.  Oh, by the way, for those
who would say “you don’t need a super star to win!!......(Nash, Dwight, Zbo, Durant, Griffin, Rose), those
would be a few names from Des Moines and Connecticut.  Sure other teams have studs, but the difference
is the two unbeaten also have the bench to go with those studs.

How exciting. Two team race in February.  Joy.  As the vampire Willow once said.  “Bored Now”.

So, why such a long wait for this mystical Update?  Simple.  Nothing to update.  The two best are the two
best, the rest are just that.  The rest.

The End

Oh, you want rankings?  Easy!  Des Moines and Connecticut are tied.  Everyones else…..is last.  Yes, Dan
too.

The Competition....is lacking
Well, its FINALLY Playoff time and while we may have been…absent for most of the year, there is no
WAY we’re missing this!  8 teams, 4 games, and we’re gonna break down each one.  Lets get to it!

#1 Seed Des Moines Dynasty
VS
#8 Seed Baltimore Buckeyez

Now, this seeding could change a little but we think this looks good.  For the seeding that is, NOT for
Baltimore.  Des Moines has gotten better every season the league has existed and yet they have never
even made the title game.  That could very well change this year.  Conley, Nash, Brand, Duncan,
Millsap, Zach Randolph, Lin, Gortat, and Dwight Howard.  ALL of those players sit on Des Moines
roster.  This game’s over before it even begins.

Dynasty Win

#2 Seed Connecticut Waves
VS
#7 Seed Dallas Mavericks

So Dallas backs their way into a Playoff berth amidst plenty of controversy over lineup this and
lineups that.  The question is, can they take down the World Champions?  The answer is simple.  No,
they can’t.  Sure Dallas brings some good talent into this game.  Smoove, Jennings, Pau, Anderson and
Lou will are all very nice as is Beas…..oh, wait…he SUCKS.  Anyhow, they are all going to perfrom but
the Waves will have D Rose, Durant, Blake, Ibaka, Hibbert and Manu.  Yeah, not gonna be close.

Waves Win

****************************

#3 Seed Carolina Catamounts
VS
#6 Seed Chicago Bulls

Well, if their logos were battling it out, its no contest, Bulls win.  But in a fantasy basketball game?
Another one that just doesn’t look like it will be much of a game.  CP3, Humpries (on paper he’s a
STUD), Jamison, KG and Lowry all play for Carolina.  Not bad.  The Bulls have…..um…Cousins.  Sure
they also possess Boozer and Tyreke but Cousins is the only stud here.  Carolina wins, with relative
ease.

Catamounts Win

#4 Seed Las Vegas High Rollers
VS
#5 Seed New York Ninja Turtles

Oh how the mighty are fallen.  Last year, we called NY the best team in the league and they almost
were.  This year we did the same, but NY, has not.  Owner Dan Oneill will quickly hide behind “being
bored” or “not caring” but questionable deals have felled this giant.  Sure NY is still a team to be feared,
but not a team to be feared BY ALL.  Before we bash this team any further lets get this out of the way,
NY will CRUSH Las Vegas.  Bosh, Monroe and Wade have little chance against LBJ, Love, Gay,
Thornton, Aldridge and a suddenly relevant Sessions.  NY walks here, but in later rounds Oneill won’t
find moving on to be so easy.

Turtles Win

The Playoffs are FINALLY Here!!!
And now there are four.  Eight teams come in, four teams move on, one team…..is better than we
thought.  First things first, Des Moines won.  We called it.  Connecticut won.  We called it.  New York
won.  We called it.  Chicago, didn’t lose.  We, um.  May have missed that one.First of all, how we missed
that Al Jefferson is on this team is BEYOND us.  Sorry.  Both he and Cousins put up HUGE numbers last
week and both topped 200.  Boozer was also very studly with 170+.  In the end, the supporting cast is
what helped Chicago over the top as almost every other player topped 70.  The end result was a 1536-
1368 victory from Chicago (incidentally, that would also have been enough to take down all but two
other teams last week……one of which being the world champs).  So the question is, are we on board
with an even deeper Chicago run???

***********************

#1 Seed Des Moines Dynasty
VS
#6 Seed Chicago Bulls

Now.  Is anyone.  ANYONE….besides Mr. Kappen himself, going to….with a straight face…say the
Chicago Bulls have a chance in HELL here?  The simple fact is, they don’t.  We will give them their due,
they are a better team than we thought, perhaps even MUCH better.  But this is Des Moines.  This is a
team built for one purpose.  To kick.  Your.  Ass.  Last week the Dynasty took the Buckeyez down by
500+.  They are stacked top to bottom and guess what, they’ll be kicking ass long after this game is
over.  Bottom line, next year, Chicago will be ranked higher, and Des Moines, will be a World Champion.

Unless……

****************************

#2 Seed Connecticut Waves
VS
#5 Seed New York Ninja Turtles

That team, you know the one, designed to kick your ass an all?  Well, had they played NY last
week, they would have lost.  No, this loss would have come down to the fact that their guys scored fewer
REAL points then NY’s guys but its still..a LOSS.  For all the trash we’ve talked on NY and for all the
effort owner Dan Oneill has put into getting himself virtually banned from the league…this is still one,
bad mutha of a team.  Luckily, for Conn…..so are the Waves.  This, will be a WAR.  Trouble is….we
have to see it.  We have too.  We can’t go without it.  It can’t Not Happen!  What is it?

Turtles V Dynasty

IT
MUST
HAPPEN

Like Neo V Smith.  Like Simba V Scar.  Like Superman V Zod.  Like Optimus V Megatron.

……Like the Rebel Stone Cold VS the Owner McMahon.

Cole
Versus
Oneill

It must happen.  And guess what…………………..It Will.
***4-3-12***
After an amazing Round One we move on to the Semi Finals.....
Stay Tuned....

Make that TWO apologies.  Last week was a SURE THING for Des Moines.  Crush Chicago on the
way to their Title.  Didn’t quite go down like that though.  Sure Des Moines won but it was by a scant 70
points.  Not exactly a crushing win.  On the other side we had Dan Oneill, dropping the ball just like last
year.  He had a few key injuries but those are part f the game and Mr. Incredible should have factored
that in while he was making deal after deal.  Now, we simply get a great Title game, NOT a legendary
one.

#1 Seed Des Moines Dynasty
VS
#
2 Seed Connecticut Waves

So here it is, Des Moines V Connecticut.  57-3 is their combined record in the regular season and
they are truly #1 and #2.  Des Moines will be without Lin and Howard and that hurts bad but Conn will be
missing Rubio and Rose may or may not contribute.  It will be a very good game and either team could
come away with the win.  Still we will name that winner now, as we have all the way through The
Playoffs.  Des Moines wins and goes unbeaten.  Meanwhile, Dan Oneill….goes back to his drawing
board.

***4-17-12***
Two in a row?  Or FINALLY...a Title??
