The PLAYOFF Update
Tune in here each week during the season for game results,
breakdowns, rivalries and the Weekly Rankings!!!
First off, that’s right, WE’RE BACK but blah blah blah WHO CARES!!  The Insanity Finals have
concluded….ladies and gentlemen the NEW Insanity Champion, The Virginia Victims!!    In a Finals
game that was one of the best we’ve seen, Gerry Nason and The Victims have come out on top 3292-
2978.

***

It looks like The Victims won by a good margin but in reality the game was a contest right down to the
final day.  For Annapolis the usual suspects did their normal damage as A.I., Kidd, Duncan, West,
and Camby finished well over 200 with Dalembert getting darned close with 198.  As for unusual
suspects, Earl Watson totaled 260 showing he can still break out but the REAL surprise was Ramon
Sessions.  Up until a couple weeks ago, this dude didn’t even get any PT whatsoever but last week,
he got that PT, and he finished with…..we’re still in shock…..353!!  Remember how we said this was
a pretty close game?  Well without Sessions, Annapolis would have been blown out….imagine that!
A little more from Redd would have been nice and Josh Howard getting dinged up didn’t help
Annapolis’s cause either.

***

For The Victims it was big names putting up some big scores.  Ellis, Roy, Bosh, Josh Smith, Bogut,
and Gasol would all be in the 200+ club.  Northern sensation Calderon would also near 200 while
The ROOK Al Horford would total 215!  And no one could have foreseen Collison waking up to
contribute 202….no one except for Gerry that is.  The MVP here is an MVP all the way around,
Regular Season, Playoffs and Finals.  418….thats Four Hundred and Eighteen…. points would be
Chris Pauls total for the week, yikes, that’s one crazy playa’!

***

And so, the 2007-2008 season comes to a close in amazing fashion with The mighty Annapolis going
down at the last minute.  They’re sure to be back next year though and they should be hungrier than
ever.  For The Victims, this could be the beginning of a dynasty…..but we seem to remember saying
the same thing…about 365 days ago.  As for Nason, he’s got a thing or two to say, but you’ll just
have to wait until tomorrow for our exclusive.  As for us, yep we’re back.  We’ll try and keep the
controversy to a minimum this go-round......unless Chirs Paul gets dealt for Bruce Bowen that is.
The PLAYOFF Update
Ok, ok, so we missed a week, so what.  Has anything changed?  Well, not really.  The only thing
really left undecided is that last Playoff spot.  The Breakerz, Victims and Legends have all already
clinched their divisions.  DaDogz have the first Wildcard spot locked down tight.  The second
Wildcard spot looks to belong to The Bulls, its not quite 100% theirs yet, but it may as well be.  Then
we have that last spot, and that’s where the fight is.

First up we have the owner of that #3 Wildcard, The Big Dogs.  The Dogs have remained largely
uninjured and that has helped their cause.  Led by Baron Davis, T-Mac, Felton, Jamison, and Ray
Allen this squad has its big names.  Several good role players are on this roster as well including
Haywood, Diaw, Grant Hill, Jason Terry, Dunleavy and even Joakim Noah.  The good news is they
are STACKED with productive guards and they nab good assist totals every week.  The bad news is
that they lack size.  Haywood IS their stud center and that could lead to a bit of trouble as the fight for
that last spot.

The other contender is Finally.  The Rocks team is littered with A-List stars like Billups, Wade, Josh
Smith, Okafor, Elton Brand and of course The King of Kings, LeBron James.  They also have a nice
role player or two….like, Marvin Williams, Rondo, Bargnani and Kenyon Martin.  They have players
who can put up huge fantasy numbers and with LeBron James playing like he is, Finally is still right in
the hunt.  The trouble here though is INJURY.  Elton Brand hasn’t played a game this year, Peja is
still not the same player he was before his injury and Wade has been up and down all season while
still recovering from off season surgery.  Finally is still in it, but if Wade shuts it down for the year, it
may get ugly fast for The Brahma Bull.

So, who gets in you ask?  Well, we’ll go out on a limb and say that yes, The Bulls get in with the
second Wildcard spot.  As for that #6 slot……that’s a tough call.  Finally had been ROLLING until last
week when they went 0-4 and lost to The A-Team…twice.  A quick peek at the remaining schedule
sees The Dogs taking on The Victims, Annapolis (this week), and The Legends in the final three
weeks.  As for The Rock, he too must take on The Victims….and Annapolis…..and The Legends, but
he also must face DaDogz who are as tough as anyone these days.  We see The Dogs going 6-6 in
their last twelve games.  They’ll split their last two against Finally but fall to the big names mentioned
earlier.  As for Finally, we think they should go 7-5, maybe 8-4.  So who gets it?  Well, based on
those predictions it will be close, but it’ll be The Big Dogs taking the final Playoff spot…..mark it down,
you heard it here first!
