| The Playoff Picture has cleared up tremendously going into the final week, with six of the eight playoff bound teams decided as well as the four division champions. -Atlanta clinched the South division crown, and the #4 seed in the playoffs. -Columbus clinched the Central division and will be the #3 seed in the playoffs. -Seattle still has a slight edge over Connecticut for the #1 seed in the playoffs. If Connecticut can win two more games than Seattle in the final week, they would become the #1 seed, which is important because the #1 seed always plays the team with the worst regular season record throughout the playoffs. -Traverse City and Albany clinched wild card spots. -Pittsburgh still looks like they will squeak into the playoffs, but the 1-6 record last week kept their post season from being a certainty. Two wins would give them a wild card spot, as would two losses by Fort Worth, but if Fort Worth and Pittsburgh tie, Fort Worth would make the playoffs because they have a 4-0 record against Pittsburgh in head-to-head match-ups. -Cleveland flew past Fort Worth into the 8th spot with an impressive 7-0 week. In the last two weeks, they have gone 13-1 meaning if they make the playoffs they could be extremely dangerous. If they go 5-2 in the final week, they will make the playoffs. -Fort Worth, once a team that looked destined to make the playoffs, has gone 5-16 in the last 3 weeks, and needs to go 7-0 with Pittsburgh going 0-7 or Cleveland going 3-4. The odds would increase if Cleveland has a terrible week, but based on their performance of late, this does not seem too likely. -Jersey has a very difficult road. If they end up tied with Cleveland, Cleveland would get the final spot because the first tiebreaker is head to head record and they are tied for that. The second tiebreaker is Points Scored during the season, and Cleveland has an insurmountable lead. So, Jersey must go at least 6-1 and hope Cleveland goes 0-7 and that Fort Worth goes 3-4 at best. If Jersey can go 7-0 and Cleveland 1-6 and Fort Worth 4-3 at best, they can make the playoffs. But over the last 3 weeks, Jersey is 9-12, so they need to have a big turnaround. If the Playoffs were to begin today, the match-ups would be: Cleveland at Seattle Pittsburgh at Connecticut Albany at Columbus Traverse City at Atlanta |
