Welcome to the Trade Talks section of our site.  Below, you will
find info on all the latest Big-Time trades.

We will break down each area of the deal from the stud Running
Backs to the 3rd string Tight Ends.

The Breakdown comes in two sections, Offensive and Defensive,
each section will be graded seperatly

After those categories are broken down and graded we'll dole out
a final grade.....and we mean FINAL, like it or not!

For individual player info, click on the "CBSSportsline.com" logo
above for a full player list.

Pre-Season trades WILL be reviewed this season!!  The only
trouble is, the message board list only seems to go back to the
7th of August.  Therefore I am not sure what picks were dealt in
what deals so deals before the 6th will not be reviewed as the
picks were probably a major part of many deals.

If Ya'll know the EXACT terms of a deal....AND want it reviewed,
drop me an email and I'll try and get a review done!

The Denver Electricity Get:

QB- Cam Newton
RB- Jonathan Stewart
WR- Roddy White
*****

The Chicago Criminals Get:

RB- Ray Rice

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Lets get it out of the way now, Ray Rice is (and will be for a WHILE) a top 5 RB, period.  And top 3
isn't a stretch.  What makes him so valuable besides his youth and playing behind a good O-Line
is the fact that he is an excellent RB AND a darn good WR too.  Very few other backs can run and
catch like him and as long as he keeps it up he will be a BIG help to Chicago.  What also helps is
that Chicago only lost a backup/time-share RB instead of a stud runner.

On the other side though, we have Roddy who is easily one of the best WRs in the game, top
10...or better.  Now, he also has another big talent on the other side in Jones.  Jones may steal a
few grabs but he will also limit the double teams Roddy sees.  Between the two though, we'd have
to take Rice.  Luckily Denver also snags that backup RB in Stewart who is not near as strong as
Rice but he can put up nice numbers and....Cam.  Cam is great!!  Cam is a bust!!  Which will it
be?  Call back in a few years to find out.

The Offensive and FINAL Grade

>>>Denver: even (Denver may have the best list of WRs in the league now but their RBs?  hmm)
>>>Criminals: + (Chicago doesn't KILL themselves at WR AND they got a HUGE upgrade at RB)
***8-26-11***
The Carolina....um...Carolina's Get:

RB- CJ Spiller
??? Pick
6th Round Pick
*****

The Chicago Criminals Get:

DB- Nate Allen

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Not sure what Chicago is thinkin here.  The Criminals lose Spiller and some picks while gaining
nothing on offense at all.  Only thought here is that it was a cap move as Spiller is NOT worth what
he costs.

The Offensive Grade

>>>Carolina: + (Spiller could be decent and if Carolina has the cap space its a total win)
>>>Criminals: - (Saving some cash is a good thing.  Better hope Spiller is a bust)
*******************************************************************

Defensive Outlook

Oh look....Chicago also got nothing on D.

The Defensive Grade

>>>Carolina: even (Losing Allen didn't hurt)
>>>Criminals: even (Gaining Allen didn't help)
*****************************************************************

The Final Grade

>>>Carolina: + (Got a young (though expensive) RB with upside and some picks while giving
basically nuthin)
>>>Criminals: -- (Chicago could NOT have been THAT strapped for cash)

...Sorry, for those asking....I felt like reviewing this deal to clarify the veto.  BUT, did it really
deserve a veto?  Not so sure, I have reviewed deals that got worse than a +/-- outcome before.

The West Virgina Wolverines Get:

QB- Matt Ryan
RB- Donald Brown
*****

The Chicago Criminals Get:

WR- Darrius Heyward-Bey
DB- Eric Berry
LB- Jarod Mayo

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Gonna go one record with it right now (and these reviews always stay up so here it is for all
time)....Matt Ryan, top 3 QB this year and for the next 5 after this year.  Thats how good this guy
(and his WRs) are.  As for Brown, he has some upside, but it is limited.

Getting Bey for Chicago is like getting a Blue Ribbon for finishing 2nd in a 2man race.  You got
something....but its TOTALLY irrelevant.

The Offensive Grade

>>>Wolves: +++ (Just an AMAZING upgrade at QB)
>>>Criminals: - (ONLY thing that saves Chicago here is the fact that they have Romo around)
*******************************************************************

Defensive Outlook

But wait, its not all bad for Chicago.  Georgia, Denver, Baltiwash.  What do all these Champions
have in common?  They all won title on the backs of their amazing defenses.   Lets see here...Eric
Berry..hmm....yep, top 5 DB.  Jerod Mayo?  Looking...looking.  Oh.  Hey!  Top 5 LB.  Yeah, not
bad

The Defensive Grade

>>>Wolves: -- (OUCH)
>>>Criminals: +++ (This is a bigger deal then you think)
*****************************************************************

The Final Grade

>>>Wolves: + (SO tough to give a final grade here.  But Ryan is to good to say the Wolves lost)
>>>Criminals: - (He is likewise to good to say Chicago won)
***8-26-11***
Carolina Gets:

QB- Tony Romo
RB- Brandon Jacobs
*****

The Chicago Criminals Get:

QB- Philip Rivers

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Really, I am NOT trying to focus on just Chicago but really, Dan is the only one making BIG deals
here (after the 7th that is).  And here we see a further tear down of Chicago's roster where first
Ryan left, now Romo!!  In return Chicago has seemingly decided to hang their hat on...Philip
Rivers?  Don;t get me wrong Rivers is damn nice but.....Chicago has evidently gotten rid of Matt
Ryan to go with Rivers as their franchise guy.  Either Dan has something more up his sleeve...or
he's LOST IT.

The Offensive and FINAL Grade

>>>Carolina: even (Romo is good, but Rivers was better.  However Jacobs is a nice RB to get
without losing one.)
>>>Criminals: even (No + for Chicago because they won by the slimmest of margins.  But I'll
make his "even" red to show he won...by a teenytiny bit)
***8-29-11***
The Baltiwash Ravskins Get:

RB- Arian Foster
WR- Kenny Britt
*****

Tony Sopranos Crew Gets:

RB- Rashard Mendenhall
WR- Calvin Johnson
RB- Issac Redman
LB- Desmond Bishop

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Lets get one thing straight, Foster is the #1 RB in the NFL, period.  Tweaked hammy?  No
problem come game time.  Not only can Foster run but the dude can catch as well and it is that
fact that takes him from #1 RB to #1 player at ANY position.  In addition, The Champs also nab
Kenny Britt.  Britt has all the talent in the world...like top 10...top 5 talent.  The trouble is, so does
J.R. Smith.  Britt can break a game (NFL or fantasy) wide open and yet he is also prone to mental
lapses on and off the field.  Still, if he ever gets it together (and at just 22 years old he has
PLENTY of time) he could be huge.

So here we go again!  Sean Edward once again pulls a fast one, nabbing Mega-Stars for basically
nothi.......oh...wait a second here.  First off, Baltiwash loses Mendenhall.  Is Mendenhall as good
as Foster?  No.  Is he close?  Yes.  In fact, it wouldn;t be surprising to see Mendenhall outrush
Foster this year (yep, I said it)!!  Both men can ctach and thats a huge bonus but Foster does do
a bit more.  At WR though, Baltiwash got TOOK!  Calvin Johnson is already a top 5 WR (maybe
even top 3) and at 25 years old he is still getting better too.  As far as Redman goes, don;t
overlook him totally.  If Rashard goes down or gets rest Redman could prove a very useful
addition.

The Offensive Grade

>>>Skins: - (Didn't get enough!)
>>>Crew: + (Won't miss Foster much at all)
*******************************************************************

Defensive Outlook

Wait, Soprano also nabbed a top 15 LB?  Is Cole the new Sean?!

The Defensive Grade

>>>Skins: - (Hope they had LBs to lose)
>>>Crew: + (Nice acquisition)
*****************************************************************

The Final Grade

>>>Skins: -- (The Rankings were done prior to this deal.....time to revise?)
>>>Crew: ++ (Winner winner Ravskin dinner)
***10-12-11***
Carolina Gets:

RB- Ray Rice
WR- Vincent Jackson
WR- Anquan Boldin
*****

The Chicago Criminals Get:

RB- Chris Johnson
WR- DeSean Jackson
WR- Mike Wallace

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Ohhhhhhh, this is an odd duck isn't it?  My my how money affects the numbers huh?  On paper,
Carolina gets killed here.......just...KILLED.  Gimmie DeSean and Wallace all day over them other
guys and CJ2K?!  Oh hell yeah!!

But this isn't paper.  This is reality.  A reality where Ray Rice out works and out performs CJ2K.
Both guys have huge talent, but CJ got paid and now, he just doesn't seem to run quite as hard.
Sure, no offseason at all may have hurt too but no matter how you slice it, Rice is the better playa.

Is cash also affecting DeSean?  He held out and only came back to save his free agency.  Now he
slows up at times and ducks defenders at others.  Yeah, Vick struggling has something to do with
it but for now anyway DeSean and Boldin seem pretty darn close.

V Jack though......he is another who recently got paid but now he seems rejuvinated.  He is
playing at a VERY high level and he should continue to dominate for the forseeable future.  As for
Wallace...he.....um.....his issue is......I mean.  The trouble with Mike Wallace is that.....errrrr.
...Sorry, Mike Wallace is as amazing as it comes, hands, speed, great routes, give me him all day
over ANY of the other WRs in this deal.

The Offensive and FINAL Grade

>>>Carolina: ++ (Ray Rice is SICK and these guys all seem to have there minds on the game)
>>>Criminals: + (Did both teams really get better?  We're not 100% sure...but getting CJ2K and
TWO of the fastest guys in the game CAN'T hurt!!)
***10-12-11***
The Fort Worth Street Sharks Get:

TE- Rob Gronkowski
DB- Antoine Bethea
*****

The Denver Electricity Gets:

RB- Mark Ingram

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Yikes.  This is a TOUGH one.  For Fort Worth, they nab one of the best TEs in the
game...sometimes.  The trouble with Rob is, not only does he share time with Hernandez but
Brady also tends to make a new guy a star each week.  hernandez one week, Welker the next,
Rob the nest, Ocho the nex...ok....maybe not Ocho.  But still, Rob is a young solid TE with a killer
QB and that can make for some BIG numbers.

As for Ingram.  We don;t really know yet.  He looks to be a solid young RB but in the triple threat
timeshare his ability and fantasy placement are tough to gauge.  Luckily for Denver Rob was their
3rd top 5 TE so losing him didnt hurt much.

The Offensive Grade

>>>Fort Worth: + (Rob is a killer TE...period)
>>>Denver: + (Needed more help at RB and got it here.)
*******************************************************************

Defensive Outlook

As for the D side, easy call.  Bethea is a very nice DB and Ft Worth lost nothing in getting him.

The Defensive Grade

>>>Ft Worth: + (Nice defensive addition)
>>>Denver: - (bethea was a starter in Denver...this hurts a bit)
*****************************************************************

The Final Grade

>>>Ft Worth: + (Got help at TE and a top DB that they paid zip for...not bad)
>>>Denver: even (Ingram is a plus but giving up Bethea to get him may hurt a bit)
***11-1-11***
Carolina Gets:

QB- Ben Roethlisberger
WR- Santonio Holmes
*****

The Denver Electricity Get:

WR- Vincent Jackson
QB- Matt Cassel

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Well, for Denver this move makes some sense.  They were looking to deal Holmes and Ben and
this deal sends both to another team.  Since Denver has Cam, losing Ben stings a little less and
Vincent is surely an upgrade over Santonio.  Getting Cassel help as a backup but he is a major
downgrade from Roethlisberger.

As for Carolina, this deal makes sense, more now than it did then.  At the time of the deal Carolina
also had Romo.  Ben was a sure upgrade there though whether Romo stayed or went.  As for
Holmes, he is a nice WR but losing Jackson hurts more than a little.

The Offensive and FINAL Grade

>>>Carolina: even (We'll say Carolina was on the winning side of even (hence the red).  getting
Ben is very nice, losing Jackson doesn't help though)
>>>Electricity: + (Jackosn is a major upgrade over Holmes and losing Big Ben hurt less thanks to
Cam also being here.)
***11-1-11***
Carolina Gets:

QB- Alex Smith
WR- Dwayne Bowe
*****

The Seattle Reign Get:

QB- Tony Romo
WR- Victor Cruz

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

One thing you can NEVER say about Carolina.....they don't try.  They may be 1-7 but they are on
the way up.  A mere 48hrs after aquiring their new franchise QB, they send their old one packing.
Carolina nets a servicable backup in Smith but the real prize was Bowe.  He may have butter
fingers from time to time but Bowe has also been a possible stud-in-the-making.

On the flip side, Seattle nets a new top QB in Romo and a breakout WR in Cruz.  Bowe is the
better player but if Cruz keeps on developing, he could rival Bowes value sooner rather than later.

The Offensive and FINAL Grade

>>>Carolina: even (This is TOUGH!  We're gonna call a straight up even on this one.  Bowe is
better than Cruz for sure...yes..for SURE.  But maybe more could have been gotten for him AND
Romo)
>>>Reign: even (....Only trouble is...after a second look...Romo ain't all that great)
***12-28-11***
Carolina Gets:

RB- Toby Gerhart
*****

The Chicago Criminals Get:

WR- Santonio Holmes

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Well, this one isn't a stunner but worth nothing.  Holmes is a solid, if unspectacular WR while
Gehart has been nothing, until now.  Now with AP done for longer than we think, Toby could see a
very nice boost in value next year.

The Offensive and FINAL Grade

>>>Carolina: + (This helps 100% in the short term and may even help long term too.)
>>>Criminals: even (Lost and RB, but Santonio is a nice get-back)
NEW
***12-28-11***
The New Jersey Crew Gets:

WR- Andre Johnson
*****

The Dallas Cowboys Get:

WR- Pierre Garcon
LB- Desmond Bishop
1st Round Pick in 2012

*********************************************************************

Offensive Outlook

Wait.  What?  All pro WR Andre Johnson dealt for lil old Garcon?  Something must be wrong here.
Oh yeah, its Johnsons body!  Andre is 30 now and will have crossed 31 years of age by next
seasons start.  He missed 3 games last year and will go without playing 10 in this years season.
When he is healthy he has been very good but he has also never, yes thats right, NEVER scored
double digit touchdowns in a season.  As for Garcon, he hasn't exactly been incredible, but
nabbing nearly 1000 yards this year with the equivalent of Rob Johnson at QB ain't bad at all.
Give the 25 year old a nice arm...say..Manning or Luck...and guess what, he could come close to
Andre...like....next year!

The Offensive Grade

>>>Crew: even (We'll leave it red, cause the Crew wins by an inch)
>>>Cowboys: even (The rebuild kicks off with a nice young piece)
*******************************************************************

Defensive Outlook

As for the D side, Bishop comes over to Dallas.  A young LB with stud numbers.  Shame on NJ.

The Defensive Grade

>>>Crew: -- (Boo)
>>>Cowboys: + (Lost nothing.....got a 20+ point per game LB)
*****************************************************************

The Final Grade

>>>Crew: -- (It should be noted the players dealt were 1-year players that NJ stood to lose for
nothing if not dealt.  ......it should also be noted NJ could have gotten more, no problem, hands
down for em)
>>>Cowboys: ++ (The Boys' got a 1st Round Pick too!!!!!)
