Tune in here each week during the season for game results, breakdowns, rivalries and the Weekly Rankings!!!

An Update? YES! We are about a month into this abbreviated season and already quite a few things are becoming clear. The Nets, Pipers Heat and Bullets still own the East and the Suns, Spurs and Sonics still run the West. The Knicks, Raptors and Cougars still suck bad as do the Jazz, Nuggets and Mavericks (owner and name changes didn’t do bupkis). So, whats different? OKC. *** The Thunder might be the one surprise we have so far this year. Last season they finished near the bottom of the league and prospects weren’t good. I mean after their stars had gone, what could a team led by World Peace and Jrue Holiday really do? Well, fast forward a few months and this team has been almost totally redone. Many times such drastic measures can send a squad even further into the abyss. In this case though, the many moves made by owner Steve Fabian have resulted in just the opposite. The Thunder are now led by names such as Dwight Howard and LeBron James. With some nice roleplayers to go along with him the Thunder are 7-5 and in the top half of the West. Bottom of the division last year, Playoffs this year. Bet on it. *** Don’t get carried away though. OKC will make the playoffs. So will a lot of other teams, but it won’t matter because the Pipers….are still here. And so are Monta, , Bosh, Billups, Gasol, Boozer and Gortat. Oh, and the greatest player alive today….KB24. (The Knicks TRIED to offer dude up to everyone….to bad it was the Pipers who came calling). The pipers are 12-0 and could be the best team sine the Anklebreakerz (to those who were around for those days). For the rest of you suffice it to say it’ d be best to play for next year, because this year is already wrapped up. **** The Rankings!!! …..Like we said, it’s the Pipers league…but we’ll rank the rest of you…that way we should know the 2012 draft order ahead of time! 1-- Pittsburgh Pipers- Yeah, just plain better than you 2—Brooklyn Nets- Will be right behind the Pipers all year 3—Phoenix Suns- Still the best in the West 4—Minnesota Muskies- Like OKC, this team looks quite a bit better than 2010 5—Seattle Supersonics- No way Strickler is this good. Is he? 6—San Antonio Spurs- Aging but still a contender 7—OKC Thunder- New Jack City 8—Miami Heat- Not the big three but still pretty solid…if CP3 can come back sooner rather than later 9—Washington Bullets- Strong team, but not a title contender 10—Portland Trailblazers- Zach’s injury hurts bad 11—Denver Nuggets- Rondo and Gasol stand alone 12—Dallas Mavericks- Pretty much a disaster 13—New York Knicks- Not going anywhere…this year 14—Utah Jazz- Still to many holes 15—Carolina Cougars- Holy crap. Harden is their best player 16—Toronto Raptors- SO much better than the next three teams on this list.

Guess whos going BACK to The Playoffs.....

Okokok, so we dropped the ball. Like, ...one update all damn year. Don’t worry, it WON’T happen again! The good news though is we’re here now and its Playoff Time!! We’d go into a little backstory on just who’s in and why but really, there’s no reason to. Why not? Well, last year, Portland, Phoenix, San Antonio, Seattle, Brooklyn, Pittsburgh, Washington and Miami made the playoffs. This year, Phoenix, San Antonio, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn and Washington will all make it again. 80% of the teams from last year, go this year. So the stories up until now, have changed very little. But, will the games go as they have in the past? Western Conference #1 Seed Pittsburgh Pipers VS #4 Seed Minnesota Muskies Minnesota comes into this game led by one of the best players in the league in Kevin Durant. Thr trouble is, after him, its slim pickings. Gerald Wallace, Felton, Bargnani and Humphries will help but in the end, it doesn’t look good. Why? Bosh, Pau, Jamison, Gortat, Ellis, Boozer. That would be the list of who's who that the Pipers will bring to this game. This one is over before it starts. Heck, that list above, doesn’t even include the best player in the game today, Kobe Bryant (Yes…BEST Player in the Game). The Muskies did a great job fighting their way into the Playoffs this year but in the end the Pipers will move on like they have each of the last two seasons. ********************* #2 Seed Brooklyn Nets VS #3 Seed Washington Bullets Now THIS, will be interesting. These two teams could NOT be more different, yet here at the end, they are running literally neck and neck. The Nets seem to be built around proven studs and those studs have served them well. Parker, Lou Will, Iggy, The Truth, D Rose, Melo and Chandler can all put up huge numbers and that’s one reason why Brooklyn has never missed the Playoffs. On the other side, Washington puts up their numbers with guys you may not think of as being of the studly variety. Lin, Millsap, Nene, Noah, Harden, West. Not exactly a list of all-stars but still, they have Washington right in the middle of things…..just like before. You see, these two teams will have now met in round one of the Playoffs in THREE of the leagues four years!! In 2008 Brooklyn crushed Washington by over 250 points. The next year Washington got revenge with a win by less than 40 points. Last year both teams got bounced in the first round but this year they will lock up again. So who takes it? Boy do we wish we had a crystal ball so we could give an answer……some way to, see this game before it actually happens. Oh wait! We can…..because these two teams are going toe to toe…right now! The trouble is, like always, they are neck and neck. So even now it looks too close to call. It’s such a close race that come the end of the day they could even switch spots with each other. One way or another though, they will play next week and in the end, the stars will prevail and….Brooklyn moves on. ....But Brooklyn..... .....Enjoy it while it lasts....... .......Because come next year........ .......New York...belongs....to The Rock....... Eastern Conference #1 Seed Phoenix Suns VS #4 Seed San Antonio Spurs San Antonio comes into this game with all their eggs in one basket. One old, creaky, rusty basket. Camby, Dirk, Kidd, Nash, Marion, Ginobili. A list of total studs……in 2004. Now, they are still borderline studs (sure Nash is still nuts) but it can go either way on any given night. As for Phoenix, they are a little more evenly laid out with Deron, KG, Smoove, Bynum, Al Jeff and Kyle Lowry leading the way. This game will be closer than Phoenix would like but its still a Suns win any way you slice it….just like each of the last two years. ****************************** #2 Seed OKC Thunder VS #3 Seed Seattle Supersonics A game like this, could ONLY happen in fantasy. The new jack city versus the old home, Oklahoma City goes head to head with Seattle! OKC will bring some mid level role players, but they could more than make up for it with their stars. Dwight. LeBron. Rondo. It may only be three names, but those names are some of the best players in the game. But Seattle will bring their own A-Listers to this one. Joe Johnson, Lee, Hibbert, Jack and Mr. Fantastic himself….Kevin Love. Just like in the East, the #2/#3 matchup is gonna be good. Real good. When its all over though, it will be Seattle moving on in a close on. Stay tuned for Round One results and Round Two breakdowns……

The Playoffs are FINALLY Here!!!

From 8 we are down to 4 and its time for the Conference Finals! We had some great games in the first round highlighted by a 1699-1690 squeaker by the Pipers over the Muskies. This was a game that was so close, it could still change depending on if the stats are truly final or not but so far, so good for Pittsburgh. Overall, its San Antonio, OKC, Pittsburgh and Brooklyn moving on. That’s two teams we called and two we didn’t, a .500 record, no great but we’ll take it! ************************** Western Conference Finals #2 Seed OKC Thunder VS #4 Seed San Antonio Spurs San Antonio won a damn close game over the league’s second best team and former champion Suns. The question is, can they keep it going versus a team with some of the biggest names in the league? If they had played last week, the Spurs would have nabbed a win but this is an entirely new game. We know the stars but what about the surprises? Glen Davis, Camby, Marion and Foye have been playing great for the Spurs while OKC has had names like Jenkins, Udoh and Chalmers topping 100 points. This should be a very good game one that is equally difficult to call. We’d side with OKC since Rondo is going nuts, but Dwight has fallen off the map and the Spurs own his…. ahem…replacement. So that’s the call, Spurs win. ********************* Eastern Conference Finals #1 Seed Pittsburgh Pipers VS #2 Seed Brooklyn Nets Now this is how it should be! #1 VS #2! But man did #1 have a helluva time getting here. We already mentioned how close the game was between the Pipers and Muskies but…..it was so close we HAD to mention it again. Funny thing is, if it had been Brooklyn facing Pittsburgh, it would have been a 200 point beat down. So can the Pipers keep it up and outpace Delgado’s Nets? Well Kevin Martin is still MIA so that hurts Pitt. Kobe is dinged up too. Meanwhile, Brooklyn is largely healthy and playing very well (especially since Melo has decided to step it up and Rose is back). In fact, this looks like the perfect time to snatch one away from the best team in the league and we think Brooklyn will do just that. Brooklyn wins, Pittsburgh goes home. That means this whole wonky season will come down to Nets VS Spurs. Neither team has ever played in the Finals so we have little history to go on. Still, its not to difficult to make a call. The 2012 BW NBA Champions? Easy….look at the PreSeason Ranks. Nets over Spurs.
