1. Snappers – It is an absolute dogfight between Snappers and Dogz for regular season champion. They
are switching back and forth in 1st and 2nd place, and really look to be unstoppable. Snappers should
have Morneau and Bailey back soon, which will help them even more.

2. Dogz – Along with Snappers they have pulled away from the Braves to clearly define the elite of the
league. They are a very balanced team that can beat you with their hitting and their pitching. Many of their
players that were question marks before the season have given them great production all year long. Their
only injury right now is Jason Bay who should be back in plenty of time for the playoffs.

3. Braves – The clear 3rd best team. They have slipped a bit from the top, but have still been very good.
They recently made a couple of blockbuster trades to meet their quota for the year so it remains to be seen
what effect that will have. They did acquire some elite hitters though, and that has been their weak link all
year.

4. Mets – They have been playing a lot better as of late, and are in a dogfight of their own with DGX for
king of the American League. They are a hitting heavy team that could use some more pitching. We are
surprised to see that Delgado has not yet made a move to acquire some. The Ryan Howard injury hurts
them a bit for the stretch run, but he should be healthy for the playoffs.

5. DGX – They have been pretty consistent all year. They just made a mega trade, but if Strasburg returns
soon it shouldn’t hurt them. They were in desperate need of some pitching and acquired a pair of aces in
Strasburg and Lester. That should really help their balance, and their outfield will still be strong. Acquiring
Posey turned out to be good since Russell Martin just went on the DL.

6. Red Sox – They are in the driver’s seat right now for the 6th and final playoff spot. The Apple Latchins
are right on their tail though. The Prado injury could not have come at a worse time, but he should be back
before the playoffs start. We have a feeling Bob will really be on the waiver wire trying to give himself the
edge.

7. Apple Latchins – The original champ of Benchwarmer’s Baseball has struggled through what we
assume has to be a frustrating year. They have had several key injuries, and can’t seem to get their best
lineup healthy at the same time. They are a pretty balanced team, and right now outfield is about their only
weak spot with Victorino on the DL. They are still very much in the playoff hunt.

8. Bucco’s – They are a little ways back in the playoff hunt for the #6 spot, but they are still a serious
contender for it. Wieters, Roberts, Volquez, and Brett Anderson are all back from the DL, and all are key
players for the Buccos. The only negative is that it doesn’t look like Utley will be back before the playoffs.
But with guys like Votto and Wright hitting the ball well, and Beckham turning his season around this team
could easily fly past the 2 teams in its way for the final playoff spot.

9. Legends – They have recently bolstered their pitching staff by adding Cliff Lee, Mike Leake, and Jordan
Zimmerman. They have also been very active on the waiver wire, and they also have a legitimate shot at
getting the #6 spot, but they will need to make their run soon with only 5 weeks left in the regular season
after this week. Don’t count them out.

10. Finally – The Matt Kemp was a great acquisition for them as they really needed a good bat in their
lineup. At this point the playoffs are probably not going to happen, but hopefully they will try and add a few
more bats to their lineup. They were really hurt this year by injuries to key players like Webb, but they can
definitely bounce back next season since their team is so young.

11. Indians – Their offense is great even with Sizemore and Morales on the DL. Their pitching on the other
hand is in desperate need of a makeover. They have some very nice bats that they could deal for good
arms and still have a great offense. There is plenty of talent on this team, it just lies primarily on the hitting
side.

12. Mallards – Looking over their roster we don’t know how they only have 9 teams. There is a lot of talent
on this team. Halladay, Marcum, and CC is a sweet front line of starters. They have been the victims of a lot
of inconsistency from guys like Zambrano, Harden, Aardsma, etc. This team is far from hopeless. Bryce
Harper is guaranteed to be a Mallard. And with a few trades and roster moves there’s no reason this team
can’t compete in the AL.

Tune in 2 weeks from now for our playoff breakdown including which team is going to get that 6th playoff
spot, and who we think will win it all!
Tune in here during the season for game results, breakdowns,
rivalries and the Weekly Rankings!!!
The National League rolls on while The American League tries
to keep up
1- Beloit Snappers – 2nd best record in the league, but they have the most points forward. 12-2 over the
last 2 weeks including the record for high week score. Oh and they are currently the high scoring team this
week as well. Last year’s runner up looks primed for a title run this season.

2- DaDogz – Best record in the league and 2nd most points scored. 11-3 over the last 2 weeks. Before the
season we figured their success would hinge largely in part on some of their question mark players. Well,
most of those players have really stepped up this year and propelled DaDogz to new heights. They look to
be the Snappers biggest competition.

3- Bad News Braves – 3rd best record in the league and 3rd most points scored. They have slipped a bit
the last 2 weeks only going 8-6, but they are still well ahead of the 4th place team in these rankings. They
have had some injuries, but nothing major and should continue to round out the Big 3. Oh, and they have
some guy named Strasburg soon to make his MLB debut. They could easily take out the Dogz or Snappers
in the playoffs.

4- Si Mets – Now this team is finally looking like a championship contender. 4th best record and 4th most
points scored. However, they are only 8-13 against the National League and don’t look to have the
firepower to take out a team like the Snappers quite yet. They should easily win the American League, and
will likely make it to the championship game again without much trouble. We don’t see them upsetting one
of the top 3 though if it comes down to that.

5- DGX – This team has far surpassed our preseason predictions. We are not quite sure how because their
starting pitching has been awful, but they do have 3 top closers and a nice offense. The owner of this team
is currently in limbo, but whoever takes it over will have a lot to work with. If this team can get some starting
pitching they could take out the Mets.

6- Bucco’s – A lot of talent on this team, but a lot is underperforming. Wieters, Beckham, Floyd, and
Quentin have all struggled mightily. On the bright side Kershaw and Gallardo have been dominant, and
they should have Alvarez and Stanton up soon. This team has the talent to make the playoffs this season,
but probably not to get past the 1st round…yet.

7- Apple Latchins – This team’s pitching has been a bright spot compared to what we thought they would
do. Billingsley has been mostly solid, and Dotel has been lights out since the beginning of May. They are
finally mostly healthy with Roberts their only injured player of relevance. Kuroda and Cecil have been
pleasant surprises, and this team’s offense is top notch. Don’t count them out of the playoffs by any means.

8- Red Sox – A lot of talent on this team, but we don’t think they will be able to get past the top 4 in their
division. It is probably time for this team to make some moves. Trade Alcides to a contender for a veteran
shortstop who will produce. Sell high on Zito. Get rid of Chipper. On the bright side Feliz has been excellent,
Wagner has been very solid, and Papi has really come around. Tillman is also back in the majors. And
Martin Prado might be our favorite player on this team.

9- The Roiders – This team frustrates us. They were our preseason number 1 pick, and they have tons of
talent all over the roster. Unfortunately Rollins, Happ, and Lohse who are all on the DL are on their bench
and not in their injured spots. They have also missed some lineups, which has held them back from several
victories. This team has the talent to easily make the playoffs and go far, but they need to take care of
some simple fixes first. Rollins is their only major injury so injuries can’t be blamed here. Come on Strickler
turn this team around!!

10- Finally!!! – Here is a team that is allowed to blame injuries. Asdrubal, Webb, Jurrjens, Street, Maine,
and Niese all on the DL. Unfortunately it does not look like Webb is coming back this year. There is a lot of
talent on this team, but why is Chris Davis who is in the minors starting at 1B for them? They do have lots of
good healthy pitching and the return of Street, Jurrjens, and Niese should give them a much needed boost.

11- Indians – Matt has been unusually quiet this year. Like Strickler he has several players on the DL on
his bench, and is not using his injured spots. This is perplexing. His offense is very solid, but the fluke injury
of Morales and the lingering injury to Sizemore really hurt. He desperately needs to bolster his pitching, and
dealing Morales and Sizemore might be a good place to start.

12-  Mallards – Well, on the bright side they are almost a lock to get Bryce Harper! This team has quite a
few holes to fill, but at least there should be quite a bit of talent in the draft next year. The best option for
this team might be to trade some of their bigger names like CC, KRod, etc. for a bunch of elite prospects
who will fill the holes as they promote. Ronny Paulino/Nick Hundley are their catching platoon. Go after a
Jesus Montero or a Carlos Santana!

8 weeks in and we see some teams right where we thought they’d be, and others have surprised us quite
a bit. Even teams like the Indians and Finally are far from out of it, though they likely need to show some life
and make some moves. The Snappers and Mets look primed for another championship showdown. I’m sure
if that’s the case the Snappers will hope there is not a 163rd game!
